Police arrest wanted bandits’ informant and 11 others in Abuja

  Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have arrested a wanted logistic supplier and informant to a kidnapping and banditry group terrorizing the FCT and its environs. A statement by the command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh said the suspect was arrested by the anti-kidnapping unit of the Command at the Mongoro Forest. The PPRO stated that the suspect, who has been on the wanted list of the Command, is being held over his alleged involvement in supplying firearms, ammunition and other weapons; food items and illicit drugs to the criminals in their various hideouts in the forests using a motorcycle. Former Ondo governor Mimiko laments brain drain in health sector, says herbalists will soon be treating Nigerians in hospitals

The immediate past Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, lamented the brain drain in the health sector, saying native doctors and herbalists will soon be treating Nigerians. Mimiko, who emphasised that the situation is alarming, said if it continues, only native doctors may be available to provide healthcare services in five to ten years time in the country. The former governor, who called the situation alarming, said that it is extremely concerning that medical professionals are trained at subsidised rates in Nigeria before leaving for industrialized nations.
